Artist Statement

My artworks include installations, videos, painting, and photography, etc., where I explore the invisible power behind everyday life. My recent research interest mainly focuses on the realm of the contemporary sublime, which I use to construct my conceptual and aesthetic framework.

 

I pay particular attention to the subtle alternation between the familiar and the extraordinary, the known and unknown, the pleasure and the mixture of delight and fear, and the secular and the transcendent. Moreover, I am fascinated by the purely spiritual experience generated within alternations, that is, a kind of unspeakable, specific spiritual status producing a ‘mental jump’ which leads the viewers to a point beyond our rational thinking and the limit of our knowledge.
